Basic Service Lv1
Frequency: Monthly/6 Monthly (AS1851)
Purpose: Visual inspection and basic checks
Includes:
Visual inspection of extinguisher/hose reel/blanket for damage, obstruction, or tampering
Confirm correct location and signage
Pressure gauge check (if applicable)
Check for correct tagging and service history
Minor cleaning (e.g., dust wipe)
📌 No tools or disassembly used. Quick checks to ensure everything appears service-ready.
Frequency: Every 6 months
Purpose: Detailed functional checks as per AS 1851
Includes everything in LV1, plus:
Confirm accessibility and visibility
Check mounting brackets or cabinets
Weigh extinguisher (where required)
Inspect hose and nozzle for damage or blockage
Inspect tamper seals and safety pins
Update and attach service tag (punch or label)
đź”§ More thorough than LV1 and compliant with AS 1851:2012 for routine maintenance.
Advanced Service Lv4
Frequency: Every 5 years (depending on type of extinguisher or cylinder)
Purpose: Safety assurance for pressurized vessels
Includes:
Emptying contents of extinguishers or cylinders
Internal visual inspection
Pressure test using hydrostatic equipment (to detect wall failure or weakness)
Valve servicing or replacement
Refill with correct agent and recharge
Full re-tagging and labeling
đź’ˇ Required to keep extinguishers/cylinders in service after their 5-year date.
Used Service Lv5
Frequency: After use, or when flat.
Purpose: Recharge of flat extinguisher.
Includes:
Replacement of internal contents
Cleaning of parts
Replacement of any outdated or non-functional components
Refilling of pressure
Leak Testing & QA
đź§ Required after the use of an extinguisher to make it fit for use again.
Emergency & Exit Lighting
Frequency: Every 6 months
Purpose: Functional test of battery backup performance
Includes:
Simulate power failure using test switch or circuit isolation
Confirm all lights remain illuminated for at least 90 minutes
Identify and document any fittings that:
Fail to illuminate
Do not maintain light for full duration
Flicker or shut off early
Replace faulty fittings or batteries as required
Clean and Reset Lighting

ESM Checks
We also inspect and maintain the following essential safety measures:
Exit Doors – Check operation, signage, and ease of opening
Fire Doors – Inspect for damage, correct closure, and compliance labelling
Paths of Travel & Egress – Ensure clear, unobstructed exit routes
Fire Indicator Panels (FIPs) – Test alarms, reset panel, and check battery backup
Smoke Detectors – Test functionality, clean sensors, replace batteries, and check expiry dates
Air Conditioning servicing – Conduct ESM routine servicing (via Contractor)
Automatic/Electric Doors – Test fire-mode release and battery backup systems
Fire Suppression Systems – Inspect cylinders, nozzles, and control mechanisms for fixed systems, boats and buses.
